Vehicles with retractable lights have the low beam and high beam connected to the headlights with a single coupler,
but later model fixed lights have separate couplers for the low beam and high beam,
so they need to be modified to fit the bulb. Position lights and turn signal lights can use the retractable light connector as is,
so you can replace them with just the headlight coupler.
The couplers for [[281]] and [[381]] that connect to the retractable light body are 3P, but the 14P couplers for [[10]] and [[20]] (12P of which are used) that include those related to the opening and closing of the retractable light in front, contain many wires that are no longer needed when using fixed lights.
If you want to keep it simple, you only need to process the couplers for [[281]] and [[381]],
but if you don't plan on switching back to a retractable light,
you'll want to remove as much unnecessary wiring as possible and organize it neatly.
Preparing Headlight Couplers
If you're using factory HID-spec late-model fixed headlights, the low beam uses a 090-type 2-pin coupler that connects to the ballast, and the high beam uses a halogen HB3 coupler. Normally, this is all you need, but I decided to remove and organize the unnecessary wiring while I was changing over.
In vehicles with retractable lights, the position lights and turn signal lights are located away from the headlights, but in the case of fixed lights, they are all stored inside the headlights, so the wiring for those lights is also combined into one coupler. Seven wires are normally needed for all the lights on one side, but by splitting the ground wire for the position and turn signal lights on the headlight side, we reduced it to six.

Harness for late-model fixed light conversion
- Custom-made harness integrating lighting circuits. The position lights and turn signal lights use the retractable light connectors as is. The low and high beams use dedicated couplers.
- 6P connector on the vehicle body. Unnecessary wiring related to the retractable lights was removed and the 14P coupler was changed to a 6P coupler.
- The connection part with the headlight body. Since the harness was originally made for the genuine bulb, the short conversion connector attached to the LED bulb left a bit of extra wiring, making handling slightly awkward.
